California Ski Industry Association
In Collaboration with Sierra College
Technical Training 2008
June 2-6, 2008 & June 9-13, 2008
Sugar Bowl Ski Resort
Norden, CA
After the success of the past two years, we are excited to offer a new advanced
level course this time around. Advanced Ropeway Mechatronics RoMec III will be offered
along with the established Introductory RoMec I and Intermediate RoMec II courses.
All offerings will be five-day, forty-hour intensive training courses limited to
24 attendees per class.
Sierra College Professors accompanied by industry experts will teach a curriculum
based in Ropeway Mechatronics, a study of principles, components, symbology, and
troubleshooting of electrical, electronic, mechanical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and
machine control systems as they relate to passenger ropeways. The courses will be
approximately 25% lecture and discussions and 75% hands-on experience.
The cost per student is $945 and includes lunch each day. For those attendees requiring
lodging, Sugar Bowl is offering a special Bed and Breakfast package. The courses
will conclude with a Friday afternoon celebration and an address by a leader in
the industry.
The CSIA will be selecting two to four master level technicians to attend the program
at a discounted rate to prepare to become Trainers for future technical training
courses. We are looking for people with the technical experience, commitment and
leadership skills to contribute to the success of our RoMec courses. Please
contact CSIA if you or a member of your staff is interested!
Registration is open to all resorts on a first-come, first-served basis, with an
early application option of CSIA members. Get those applications in early! We expect
all classes to fill up, and due to the limited number of attendees, we may not be
able to accommodate all applicants.
This promises to be an outstanding training program. We look forward to your
attendance!
