welcome to csia's technical training website
In its fourth year, the much-acclaimed CSIA/Sierra College Ropeway Mechatronics program is only getting better. Planning is underway for new in-depth demonstrations and hands-on opportunities.
This summer’s courses will be held at Northstar-at-Tahoe on June 1-5, 2009. We will also be utilizing the new Mechatronics lab at Sierra College’s brand new Tahoe-Truckee campus. RoMec II has been CANCELLED. As usual, all offerings, RoMec I and III, will be five-day, forty-hour intensive training courses limited to 24 attendees per class. The cost per student is $950 and includes lunch each day, a kick-off BBQ and a course completion celebration. For those attendees requiring lodging, Northstar is offering a special Bed and Breakfast package. Reservations can be made directly through Northstar.
The CSIA will be selecting two to four master level technicians to attend the program at a discounted rate to prepare to become Trainers for future technical training courses. We are looking for people with the technical experience, commitment and leadership skills to contribute to the success of our RoMec courses. Please contact CSIA if you or a member of your staff is interested!
Sierra College Professors accompanied by industry experts will teach a curriculum based in Ropeway Mechatronics, a study of principles, components, symbology, and troubleshooting of electrical, electronic, mechanical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and machine control systems as they relate to passenger ropeways. The courses will be approximately 25% lecture and discussions and 75% hands-on experience.
Registration is open to all resorts on a first-come, first-served basis, with an early application option of CSIA members. Get those applications in early! We may not be able to accommodate all applicants.
This promises to be an outstanding training program. We look forward to your attendance!
